With Invisalign orthodontic treatment you won't need to give up any of your favourite foods, like popcorn which can get stuck in metal braces.
Invisalign's clear custom aligners are removable, so all you need to do is take out your aligners each time you're ready to eat. Once you're finished eating, brush and floss your teeth, then put your aligners back in place - easy!
That said, you will still need to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. That means that you may just want to make some adjustments to your eating schedule.
Skipping The Snacks
Invisalign will fit into your schedule pretty easily if you tend to eat three meals a day and forgo snacks. On the other hand, if you tend to snack throughout the day and just have one larger meal at dinnertime, you may want to adjust your eating schedule.
Every time you remove your aligners you will need to clean your teeth. That means, the more often you snack the more often you will need to remove your aligners and clean your teeth before putting them back in. That can be inconvenient and time consuming if you snack frequently.
Which is why it may be helpful for you to eat fewer, larger meals throughout the day, and snack less.
Drinking More Water
You're able to drink cold water with your Invisalign aligners in place.
However, if you drink coffee, or enjoy a glass of red wine at night, you'll need to remove your aligners first and be sure to brush your teeth afterwards.
Hot liquids can warp the aligners and sugary dark liquids may stain them.
You might find that you'll drink more water throughout your Invisalign treatment than you did previously.
